OPPOSE PINNACLE P3 PARKS, OCP AND ZONING DESECRATION
In the words of past Councillor Robert Hobson:
"Our parks today are taking on new roles in promoting inclusion, diversity, reconciliation, tourism and response to climate change."
We are a group of Kelowna residents who oppose residential development on the Gallaghers Pinnacle Golf Course.
The Canadian Retirement Corporation (CRC) has applied to the City of Kelowna to build 21 Townhouses and 19 apartment-style units on the Pinnacle Golf Course.
A survey of Kelowna residents show an overwhelming majority stand firmly opposed to this application.
OUR MISSION: to prevent the construction of townhouses and an apartment building within the Gallaghers Canyon community through education, communication and lobbying.
Gallaghers is a successful, thoughtfully designed community with strict architectural controls nestled in the pristine wilderness of South East Kelowna. Gallaghers homeowners expect the developer (CRC) to honour its own Disclosure Statements that are part of agreements entered into when each homeowner purchased their property. which this development doesn’t respect.
We trust the City of Kelowna to honour its own Official Community Plan 2040 and Permanent Growth Boundary. The City developed its OCP 2040 and the principles are set out for all new development applications This CRC development application DOES NOT align with these OCP guidelines.
Approximately 40,000 people play the Pinnacle Golf Course every year. This golf course provides the best views of one of the most unique geological formations in the world, Layercake Mountain. There are only two formations like this in the world! This development will block that view for these 40,000 Kelowna residents and visitors for the benefit of of one Vancouver Developer and 21 luxury homes.
We ask you to support our effort to halt the application and uphold the CIty’s promises regarding development in South East Kelowna.
Giving Kelowna's new OCP "a chance" means saying NO to this development application.
